This initial home visit usually happens right as your milk is coming in. We perform a full head-to-toe clinical assessment for both you and your baby to ensure recovery is progressing safely. We’ll discuss normal feeding habits, basic latching, and nipple care. Even if feeding feels "fine," this visit is vital for confirming your supply is building correctly and that your body is healing well from the birth.

As your baby hits a major growth spurt to regain birth weight, we are there to monitor progress. We perform a clinical weight check and an infant massage to help loosen any tension in the baby's body, which often leads to a more comfortable feeding experience. We also spend time processing your birth story—addressing any physical or mental trauma—and performing our first mental health screening (Edinburgh Scale) to ensure you are feeling supported emotionally.

This week, we focus on the "why" behind your baby’s movements. We perform a weighted feed to see exactly how much milk is being transferred and reassess oral function. I will also guide you through infant massage techniques you can use at home. This visit ensures that even without feeding struggles, your baby’s oral and physical development is being optimized for long-term health.

As you move out of the "newborn fog," we look at the big picture. We plot your baby’s growth on a formal curve and address any lingering questions about oral function or physical development. We’ll perform another mental health check-in and create a formalized pumping and feeding plan if you are preparing for childcare or a return to work. This visit serves as a professional "check-up" to ensure no small hurdles are being overlooked as you settle into a routine.

This visit can be scheduled whenever you need it most during your third month. It’s perfect for troubleshooting a sleep regression, preparing for a trip, or simply as a final clinical check-up to ensure you feel 100% confident in your journey. We’ll do a final weighted feed and growth assessment so you have a clear picture of your baby's progress before you transition out of the bundle.

We are thrilled to integrate specialized pediatric occupational therapy into our packages through a partnership with Cameron McWilliams, owner of Baby Steps. While lactation care focuses on milk production and transfer, Cameron addresses the foundational body tension, oral function, and reflex integration that allow your baby to feed comfortably and meet developmental milestones. This collaborative approach ensures we are caring for the whole baby right from the start, transforming early feeding and movement hurdles into smooth, confident triumphs.
